Transforming the Ethiopian Health Sector Through Digital Solutions

JSI partnered with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health to lead a digital revolution to transform the health sector and create a sustainable, modern information ecosystem. We implemented 18 digital solutions from hospital electronic medical records (EMR) to logistics solutions serving Ethiopia’s entire health supply chain. Our work resulted in better patient care, a reduction in mortality at sites using EMR, and a 15.4% increase in the availability of essential health products. We trained over 46,500 health professionals and fostered a culture of data use, equipping Ethiopia with essential digital infrastructure to continuously improve the health of its citizens.

Improving Supply Chain Visibility and Planning in Tanzania

JSI partners with the Ministry of Health to strengthen Tanzania’s Electronic Logistics Management Information System (eLMIS), achieving an uptime of over 99.8%. New, customized dashboards provide critical insights into key indicators, such as product wastage, forecast accuracy, and the availability of essential health products, enhancing supply chain visibility and planning.

Reducing Supply Disruptions in the Pacific Islands

Partnering with UNFPA, JSI strengthens logistics systems and establishes end-to-end visibility to reduce supply disruptions across the Pacific Islands. Our work optimizes logistics systems and processes, building capacity in forecasting and supply planning to promote data-driven action. This partnership led to a 40% reduction in regional family planning commodity stockouts and enabled countries to use real-time data to guide critical health actions.
