Project
In Nigeria, resource constraints and persistent bottlenecks hinder routine immunization in high-risk local government areas, particularly among zero-dose and under-immunized children. Our project works to identify and vaccinate 91,000 of these children, reducing the national backlog and strengthening local delivery systems for sustained coverage. We focus on the design and implementation of service delivery strategies to reach children with essential immunization services through support to public health facilities and communities in selected local government areas across five states of Nigeria. JSI is mobilizing more than 350 mobile outreach teams, supporting microplanning, driving demand creation through behavioral approaches, and providing technical assistance for digital data collection and state-level coordination. JSI is leading this effort in close collaboration with the national, state, local government areas, community actors, and civil society organization stakeholders.
