RI Prevention Resource Center II

JSI is working with the RI Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals to establish the Rhode Island Prevention Resource Center (RIPRC) as a training and technical assistance (TTA) resource for substance abuse prevention providers. JSI provides TTA based on providers' self-identified capacity needs and through various formats, including face-to-face meetings, eLearning, and Learning Collaboratives. The RIPRC strengthens the prevention workforce by focusing on increasing participation in the RI Substance Abuse Prevention Certification system and expanding prevention infrastructure capacity across the state. A new website will be developed to serve as a central source for linking providers to appropriate TTA and local public information. The RIPRC will support the development of three key guiding documents: the Substance Abuse Prevention Strategic Plan, the Workforce Development Plan, and the Training and Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Implementation Plan, guiding the state's overall prevention goals.
