Since 2003, JSI has been contracted by the New Hampshire Division of Public Health to provide technical assistance and training for public health emergency preparedness across the state. This work addresses the vital need to strengthen and sustain preparedness at local, regional, and state levels to respond to major events like 9/11, Influenza A (H1N1) and COVID-19 pandemics, and various natural disasters. The project works with state partners, local volunteers, and New Hampshire’s 13 Regional Public Health Networks to build public health emergency response capacity and increase preparedness across local and regional levels. JSI develops state-level response plans and implements and evaluates emergency exercises using Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program Methodology, supports the volunteer base, and develops essential plans, guidance, and training templates for state and local partners.
