The NextGen Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora (Better Supply, Better Health) project in Tanzania addresses persistent challenges in the health supply chain and pharmaceutical management systems, including institutional and workforce limitations, and fragmented information. The project works with the Government of Tanzania to build resilient health systems that save lives and protect communities by ensuring reliable availability of affordable essential medicines. The project works to establish streamlined and flexible supply chain and pharmaceutical management systems by strengthening forecasting, supply planning, and improving supply chain management information systems and data visibility. It also improves governance through stakeholder engagement, effective resource management, and strategic public-private partnerships.
JSI leads a consortium of international, regional, and Tanzanian partners, including Afya Intelligence, Apotheker, InSupply Health, PICMA, RTI International, and ThinkWell. JSI's role is to strengthen the capacity of systems, institutions, and individuals to sustainably manage supply chains and pharmaceutical systems.
