The HPV Vaccine Acceleration Program Partners Initiative (HAPPI) Consortium accelerates HPV vaccination access and coverage in low- and middle-income countries. The project focuses on five core areas: accelerating vaccine introductions; flexible country technical assistance for program strengthening and sustainability; closing key evidence gaps through learning; translating learning to practice; and bringing country realities into global coordination and policy development.
Since 2023, HAPPI has provided technical assistance in more than 20 countries. Project technical assistance to countries has contributed to over 34.1 million girls vaccinated globally, helping Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (Gavi) reach its target of 86 million girls vaccinated. HAPPI is addressing key evidence gaps in HPV vaccine program sustainability, implementation in fragile settings, service delivery and coverage improvement strategies, and male engagement.
The consortium collaborates closely with national immunization programs, ministries of health, and global partners like the Gates Foundation, Gavi, WHO, and UNICEF. JSI manages the HAPPI Consortium with partners the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), the International Vaccine Access Center (IVAC), Jhpiego, and PATH.
