Employee Stories

The JSI Team: bringing heart and craft to every job.

At JSI, good work works both ways. With every project, our employees earn the pride and self-respect that comes with a job well done. And our clients get quality work at a competitive rate, all while supporting the greater good of the whole community.

Our employees come from all over Jefferson County. Here, they receive thorough training and supervision, a safe work environment, a paycheck, and the friendship and support of their fellow JSI employees.

Norman Wooldridge
Norman came to JSI from just across the street. Literally. He lives in a residential care facility next door to JSI and was referred here for work seven years ago. Since then, Norman has developed into a leader who is always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. At JSI, he particularly enjoys working with dental trays for our customer, Taylor Packaging Corp. He stays just as busy in his off time, competing in the Special Olympics and singing with the Next Steppers choir at his residence facility.
Christina Roth
Recommended by her vocational training program, Christina came to JSI three years ago. With her bubbly personality and helpful attitude, Christina makes everyone she meets feel welcome. She likes the variety of work at JSI and is always eager to learn new jobs. But her favorite is learning to make hats. She enjoys working with the other employees, spending time with kids, watching her favorite show, “Full House”. And she is the proud aunt of a new niece.
Adam Stockwell
Referred to JSI at a job fair in 2002, Adam’s hard work and can-do attitude have taken him from workshop newbie to lead floor person. Supervisors can rely on him to cover any position in the workshop with a smile on his face. Always polite, positive and upbeat, Adam is responsible for selling snacks during breaks and lunch, which he says is his favorite job at JSI. Off the job, Adam is a car buff. He enjoys attending car shows and collecting t-shirts that feature his favorite roadsters.
